Fight Parkinson’s relies on the generosity of the Parkinson’s Australia community to fund our information, education, and support services.
Your fundraising efforts help us make a real difference to the lives of people living with Parkinson’s by ensuring we can provide ongoing support services as well as invest in Parkinson’s research.
There are many ways you can raise money to support our vital work.
Fight Parkinson’s community fundraising events
There are a number of Fight Parkinson’s community fundraising events held throughout the year. Check the events calendar for details about events you could attend.
A Walk in the Park
A Walk in the Park is Fight Parkinson’s largest community fundraising event for the year dedicated to celebrating and supporting people living with Parkinson’s.
This event brings together people from all walks of life – those with Parkinson’s, families and friends, and healthcare professionals.
Every dollar raised through A Walk in the Park helps to improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s and advance the search for a cure.
A Walk in the Park is held in April each year. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for details or sign up to our e-newsletter to ensure you receive email updates about the event.
Organise your own fundraising event
Many of our incredible supporters choose to organise their own fundraising events or activities to raise funds and awareness for Fight Parkinson’s.
Whether you’re an individual, a group of friends, a Rotary Club, school, sports or social club, local business, or other community organisation, your collective efforts make a meaningful difference to people living with Parkinson’s.
We truly couldn’t do it without you.
Planning an event with in-person (offline) donations?
If you plan to collect donations in person—such as cash, cheques, or EFTPOS—at your event or activity, you’ll need to complete an Authority to Fundraise form.
This ensures your fundraising is approved and supported by Fight Parkinson’s.
Once submitted, our team will be in touch with resources, guidance, and next steps to help make your event a success.
Collecting donations online?
If your event or fundraising activity will collect donations online only, you can simply set up a Fight Parkinson’s online fundraising page.
This is the quickest and easiest way for supporters to donate and share your fundraising with their networks – no additional forms required.
If you’d like to discuss your fundraising idea or need help deciding which option is right for you, please contact our fundraising team on (03) 8809 0400 (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm).
Together, we can make a real impact.

Fundraising tips
If you’re planning to fundraise for Fight Parkinson’s, here are some simple tips to help make your event a success:
- Spread the word
Tell everyone what you’re doing and who you’re fundraising for. Put up posters in your local area, share regular updates on social media, email friends and family, and send a link to your fundraising page. Don’t be afraid to ask others to help share your message. - Set a clear goal
Having a fundraising target gives people something to work towards and helps motivate donations. Let supporters know how their contribution will make a difference. - Share your “why”
Let people know why Fight Parkinson’s matters to you. A personal story or connection can inspire others to get involved or donate. - Make it easy to donate
If collecting donations online, share your fundraising page widely. If collecting in person, clearly display donation points and information about Fight Parkinson’s. - Say thank you
Remember to thank your supporters and donors. A simple thank you goes a long way and helps build ongoing support.
