Christine Anderson
Sir Zelman Cowen Award
Christine, leader of the Kyabram Parkinson’s Peer Support Group, receives the 2021 Sir Zelman Cowen Award for her outstanding volunteer service. A passionate advocate known for her humour and openness, Christine has grown the Kyabram group for over seven years, moved it online, and promoted Parkinson’s awareness through local media and social platforms. Beyond her community, she has been an ambassador for A Walk in the Park and 27forParkinson’s, raising over $12,000, and fronted the 2019 mid-year appeal, which raised $95,000. With a “sense of purpose and a dash of mischief,” Christine continues to inspire and connect people living with Parkinson’s.
