Hospital or respite checklist for People living with Parkinson’s

Preparing for a hospital stay or respite care can be overwhelming especially when living with Parkinson’s. To help make the process easier, we’ve created a practical hospital or respite checklist designed specifically for people with Parkinson’s and their cares.

This downloadable checklist ensures you have everything you need, from essential documents and medications to personal care items and communication tips.

Hospital and respite settings may not always be familiar with the individual needs of someone living with Parkinson’s. By using this checklist, you can help ensure:

  • Medications are administered on time and as prescribed
  • Care staff are aware of mobility, dietary and communication needs
  • Important personal preferences and contacts are clearly shared
  • You or your loved one feels more confident and prepared

Whether you’re planning in advance or preparing during an emergency, this checklist helps take the guesswork out of what to pack and communicate.

This resource is ideal for:

  • People living with Parkinson’s who are going into hospital or respite
  • Family members or carers assisting with care planning
  • Health professionals supporting people with Parkinson’s
