Victor McConvey is the Director of Health and Community Services at Fight Parkinson’s, the non-government organisation supporting people living with Parkinson’s and Atypical Parkinson’s. Victor has been a Nurse for over 35 years and has worked in Neuroscience for the past 30 years, holding advanced practice and service development in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Victor is a current co-chair of the World Parkinson’s Congress and has served as chair of the International Movement Disorder Societies Taskforce on palliative care. He is currently co-chair of the Early Onset Parkinson’s Study Group and Palliative Care Study group and is the Australian and Oceania board representative for the International Neuro Palliative Care Society.
Victor has also participated as a Clinical Advisor on PD PAL a trans- European study developing new standards of Palliative care in Parkinson’s and was the Nursing representative on the Parkinson’s Foundation (USA) Rehabilitation Medicine Taskforce reviewing global best practice rehabilitation for people living with Parkinson’s.
Victor was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honors list in 2022, for Services to Nursing and Parkinson’s.
