There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to Parkinson’s. This fact sheet explores different therapy options for Parkinson’s, helping you decide what might best suit your needs.

Learn about the different allied health professionals who may be part of your care, and how to access these services in your area. These may include:

  • Physiotherapy – to support mobility, balance and strength
  • Speech therapy – to improve speech, voice and swallowing
  • Occupational therapy – to assist with everyday tasks and energy management
  • Psychological support – to manage depression, anxiety or mood changes

This resource explains the role of each therapy and when it might be most beneficial. It also offers tips on how to access services and get referrals.

Working with Parkinson’s allied health professionals as part of a broader care team can help you stay active, independent, and connected. Therapies can also help manage non-motor symptoms that often go unnoticed but significantly impact quality of life.
