Ask the Expert: Singing to Improve Speech Quality

Online Session via Zoom (map)

Tue 8th Mar 2022, 12:00pm to 1:00pm (1 hour)

Is Parkinson’s affecting your speech?

People with Parkinson’s can develop problems with speech and non-verbal communication. Exactly when these problems might emerge is different for everyone.

Symptoms vary from person to person but may include:

  • reduced volume of speech
  • slurred speech
  • fast speech
  • difficulty articulating words
  • monotonous tone
  • hoarse or unsteady voice.

ParkinSong is a Fight Parkinson’s singing program proven to improve speech quality in a world-first clinical trial.

We now need more people to join us in the next ParkinSong clinical trial which will look at singing online.

Join us for this special Ask the Experts focusing on ParkinSONG!

University of Melbourne researchers Dr Jeanette Tamplin and Prof. Adam Vogel will explain more about ParkinSong, the initial research project and the more recent feasibility study that has showed us that ParkinSong can be delivered online.

You will learn how you can be part of the next ParkinSONG clinical trial!
