Ask the Expert: Early and Young Onset Parkinson’s with Dr Richard Blazé

Online Session via Teams (map)

Tue 14th May 2024, 5:30pm to 6:30pm (1 hour)

Did you know, 20% of people who are diagnosed with Parkinson's are below the age of 65 or of working age, and around half of these people are under the age of 50?

Join us for this special Ask the Expert discussion with neurologist Dr Richard Blazé as we explore the unique challenges that come with being diagnosed with Parkinson's when you are young.

This informative session will discuss the emerging understanding of the different ways Parkinson's affects men and women and provide practical advice on living with early-onset Parkinson's.

About Dr Richard Blazé

Dr Blazé commenced a three-year fellowship in the movement disorders unit of the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2014, followed by a year at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, where he broadened his experience, particularly around Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).

He returned to Melbourne in 2018 to become a consultant at the Alfred Hospital and the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University.

He is also a rostered neurologist at the Epworth Hospital, Richmond and has a private practice in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
