Online Singing

Online Session via Zoom (map)

Fri 26th Aug 2022, 11:00am to 12:00pm (1 hour)

Join our online singing community and get ready to belt out some tunes in the comfort and security of your own home.

Singing is particularly beneficial for people with Parkinson’s, as the condition can affect speech and voice in some people.

Singing can be an excellent form of exercise, providing a work-out for your voice and lungs and releasing endorphins to make you feel energised and uplifted.

And the beauty of online singing is that you can sing to your heart’s content as the only person who will hear you - is you!

Singing can also provide a number of emotional benefits, which a number of last year’s participants reported back to us, including:

  • improved confidence
  • reduced anxiety
  • increased feelings of well-being
  • reduced feelings of social isolation.

So why not give it a go? Join our talented Music Therapist, Fiona, on selected Fridays at 11:00am to midday for a one hour, open singing session on the Zoom platform.

Sessions are free to attend, but please register your attendance below so we can send you the link to join us.

Please note that this weekly singing session is not part of the accredited ParkinSong™ therapeutic program.

ParkinSong™ is an activity-based peer support program involving vocal warm-up and exercise, practical communication activities, group singing and social engagement that commenced in Williamstown in 2013.

This program is now run at various locations across Victoria. Anyone interested in attending ParkinSong™ can call our health team on 1800 644 189 for information.
