Join us as we delve into the reasons for "wearing off" and how to manage these fluctuations.
You may have heard of the term ‘wearing off’ or motor fluctuation in Parkinson’s.
This refers to feeling the symptoms of Parkinson's return before your next dose of medication. It may develop after a few years of living with Parkinson's. Over time, your medication can literally ‘wear off’ and symptoms re-emerge until after your next dose.
In addition to motor fluctuations, sensory and autonomic symptoms may fluctuate in response to levodopa levels. These include sweating, anxiety, pain and slowed thinking.
