This free community seminar offers valuable insights into Parkinson’s. The event is open to anyone living with Parkinson’s, with several sessions tailored specifically for the Young Onset Parkinson’s community.
Session 1
We’ll be presenting a section from the Your Care, Your Choice education program - an innovative initiative designed to help you navigate the health and community care systems.
Your Care, Your Choice is proudly delivered with the support of a Peer Support and Capacity Building grant provided by NDIS. Fight Parkinson’s is proud to be delivering projects for the Peer Support and Capacity Building (PSCB) grant for the NDIS. Together we’re ensuring that people with disability keep accessing supports to build their skills and connect with others who have shared similar experiences.
Session 2
Learn how to manage work and life with Parkinson’s in this informative session. You’ll gain insights from a neuropsychologist on managing cognitive changes, hear practical strategies from an occupational therapist, and receive guidance on navigating complex topics like superannuation and insurance when considering leaving work. The session will conclude with a presentation from a leading researcher on the benefits of mindfulness and how it can support your wellbeing while living with Parkinson’s.
